The project started in 2001 and has proceeded under the direction of the Department of Contemporary History at the University of Turku. Volumes 1, 2 and 6 appeared in spring 2006, 3, 4 and 8 in autumn 2006. Volumes 7 and 10 appeares in 13th of June 2007, volumes 5 and 11 in October 2007 and the rest of the volumes 9 and 12 in January 2008. The centennial will be celebrated nationally and internationally, as well as bilingually in Finnish and Swedish.
