The secon centennial session May 23rd 2007
The second centennial session took place on Wednesday, May 23rd 2007, which marked the 100th anniversary of the first plenary session of Finland's unicameral Parliament. In the second centennial session the intention was to pass a resolution establishing funds for women's organizations. Former MPs and war veterans were among the honorary guests invited to this session.
The first centennial session June 1st 2006
The first centennial session was held on Thursday, June 1st 2006, which marked the 100th anniversary of the approval of the Parliament Act and Election Act by the Diet. In the first centennial session the intention was established an independent research institute that concentrates on international relations and EU affairs. In addition to Finnish invited guests, numerous guests from abroad had been invited to attend the first centennial session. Invited guests included Speakers of the parliaments of the members of the Council of Europe and eleven other countries.
