Speeches at the opening of Parliament 1907-2006


The speeches given at the opening of Parliament over the past 100 years have been published in the volume. While Finland was still an autonomous Grand Duchy by the Governor General gave the speeches on behalf of the Russian Czar and they were answered by the Speaker. Since Independence speeches have been given by the President of the Republic, with a few exceptions, and answered by the Speaker.

The goal is to draw attention to the dialogue between the head of state and the Speaker. A special goal is to offer easy-to-use source materials for research and analysis. In addition to the development of interaction, readers can investigate how the structure of speeches has changed.
