MPs voted 86–65 in favour of the government. Read more » The Norwegian Parliament's Delegation Visits Finland 8.4.2013 The arctic delegation of the Norwegian Parliament Stortinget will visit Rovaniemi and Helsinki from April 8 to April 10. In Rovaniemi, the delegation gets to know the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland, as well as to discuss with the mayor Esko Lotvonen about issues related to Barents region economic cooperation. Read more » Number of Electoral Districts to Be Reduced 6.3.2013 On Wednesday, 6 March 2013, Parliament approved an amendment to the Election Act as a result of which the number of electoral districts in Finland (excluding Åland) will be reduced from 14 to 12. The amendment was approved by a vote of 83–63. Read more » President Receives Pay Cut 5.3.2013 The President of the Republic's remuneration will be reduced from 160,000 euros to 126,000 euros a year. The pay cut was approved by Parliament on Friday.
