Eduskunta Approves Next Year's Budget
At its session on Friday, 19 December 2014 the Parliament of Finland approved next year's state budget, which totals about 53.9 billion euros. This includes 55 million euros that was added during parliamentary handling of the budget. Read more »

Parliament Approves Fennovoima’s Nuclear Plant
Parliament of Finland approved the Government’s decision-in-principle on an application by Fennovoima Oy to build a Rosatom nuclear reactor unit in Pyhäjoki. 115 MPs voted in favour and 74 against the decision-in-principle on Friday 5th December. Read more »

Grand Committee Supports Gender-Neutral Marriage
The Grand Committee of the Finnish Parliament supports amending the Marriage Act into gender-neutral form, as decided in the plenary session of the Parliament last week. Members of the Grand Committee voted 17–8 in favour of amendments. Read more »
Parliament Supports Equal Marriage Rights
The Finnish Parliament voted 105–92 in favour of citizens' initiative for equal marriage rights on Friday 28th November. The decision is not yet final and the matter is referred to the Grand Committee. Read more »
Government Wins Vote of Confidence
Prime Minister Alexander Stubb's government won a vote of confidence in the Parliament on Friday 728h November. MPs voted 100–97 in favour of the government. Read more »
