Parliamentary Network on the World Bank

World BankThe Parliamentary Network on the World Bank was created with the aim of engaging the parliaments of the world in the global debate on development and increasing the influence that parliamentarians can have on development cooperation. Its activities include annual conferences, meetings between parliamentarians from developing and donor countries as well as a variety of research and training projects.

The network is based on membership by individual members of parliament. The nine members of the Steering Committee come from around the world. Dr. Kimmo Kiljunen, MP for Finland, is co-chair of the network. The composition of the Finnish delegation to the annual conference is decided by the Chancellery Commission of Parliament on a meeting-by-meeting basis.
