Swedish Parliamentary GroupThe Swedish Parliamentary Group comprises the Representatives from the Swedish People’s Party in Finland and the constituency of Åland. The Group has 9 members and is chaired by Ulla-Maj Wideroos. Her deputies are Mats Nylund and Mikaela Nylander. It has operated under the same name since the first Eduskunta elections in 1907. The Group pursues a liberal, bourgeois policy, through which we want to offer all citizens a secure childhood, a valuable education, a rewarding life at work and a dignified old age. The Group gathers in its conference room on the fifth floor at 14.30 every Thursday. We want:your child to be able to go to a school and kindergarten where its own language is the medium; your grandparents to receive high-quality health services and care for the aged through the medium of their own mother tongue; everyone to have a job to go to; companies to be able to operate in conditions that improve their ability to hire additional employees; you to be able to spend more time with your child without this threatening your career prospects; you and your family to be able to live and work also in a rural area; you still to be able to swim in the Baltic in 20 years’ time; Finland to go over to using more renewable energy; you to be able to feel at home and safe in Finland irrespective of the colour of your skin, whether you are a man or a woman, gay or deaf; Finland to shoulder her international responsibility in the form of increased funding for development aid and crisis management and by working for greater openness in international organisations.
