Visiting parliament


Welcome to the Finnish Parliament. Guided tours open to the public are arranged on Saturdays and Sundays (see below for further information). The weekend tours do not require advance booking.
There are also guided tours available from Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. (not during plenary sessions).  These tours require prebooking. A request  for reservation can be made here:

Guided tours in July and August Mondays to Fridays 11 a.m. and 1 p.m, Saturdays 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and Sundays noon and 13.30 p.m.
The plenary session hall is being renovated during the summer of 2008. Thus, the gallery for the public is not part of the guided tour.
We regret the inconvenience.

Entrance for the Guided Tours
Visitors who wish to participate in a guided tour should come to the door leading to the public gallery, which is located to the left of the main entrance. Please note that is is important to be on time, since the doors will only be opened for prebooked groups.

Times for the Guided Tours
Tours open to the public are arranged on Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and on Sundays at noon and 13.30 p.m. In July and August guided tours are arranged daily at 11.00 a.m. and 13.00 p.m. The maximum size of the group is 25. The tours are conducted in Finnish, Swedish and English. The public tours do not require prior booking.

For prebooked tours: A complete list with the names of all participants of the group should be sent to the following address three days before the visit:
paaovi(@)eduskunta.fi The maximum size is 25 participants per group.

You may take photographs in the Parliament , but you do have to leave your mobile (also those equipped with a camera) in the lockers downstairs. There is a security check before the tour starts.

There are plenty of stairs in the Parliament and no lifts in connection with the public entrance. The tours include a lot of walking in stairs.

Parliament is open and accessible to all visitors with disabilities.
All tours are accessible by wheelchair users. Alternative routes and viewing points exist for visitors with (motorised) wheelchairs. Visitors should contact the guide service in advance for alternative routes +358-9-432 2027 or oppaat(@)eduskunta.fi.

Observing plenary sessions in the Parliament
The public is welcome to observe all Parliaments' plenary sessions from the public gallery. The public entrance is opened 15 minutes before each plenary session. Visitors should use the door leading to the public gallery, which is located to the left of the main entrance. The session hall is equipped with an induction loop.
